KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State dropped a close ASUN Conference match to Liberty University, 1-0, at Fifth Third Bank Stadium Thursday afternoon.
The Owls (1-5-0, 0-2-0) out-shot the Flames (2-2-2, 1-1-0), 14-8, and had four shots on target compared to Liberty's three.
Senior Erin Harris led the charge with three shots and two on goal. She rocketed a shot in the first half, but keeper Melody Jayroe stepped in front in the 38th minute.
Kelsey Hahn, Kendall Higgs, and Kendall Hart each had a couple of shots, with Hahn placing a header in the first half that resulted in one of Jayroe's four stops.
KSU goalkeeper Dylan Pixton had two saves in the setback. The match's lone score came off a Rachel DeRuby pinball at 61:42.
The Owls will look to regroup with another ASUN match at Bellarmine Sunday at noon.
