KENNESAW, Ga.- The Kennesaw State University soccer team swept Bellarmine University this spring with a 2-1 triumph Sunday afternoon at the KSU Sports Park.
Jenna Vollrath netted the game-winning goal for the Owls (4-6-0, 3-2-0 ASUN Conference) with an amazing header off a lob from Kathryn Schreck at 83:32.
Kendall Higgs' 33rd minute goal gave the Owls the early lead before halftime, 1-0. Higgs shot was her second goal on the season and was assisted from Becky Contreras.
Elise Markley put the Knights (2-5-1, 2-1-1) on the board early in the second half with a lower corner shot assisted by Isabella Zamborini.
KSU had eight shots with four on goal. BU had only nine shots with three on goal.
Dylan Pixton was victorious in net with two saves while Bailee Whitt had one save in the Bellarmine setback.
The Owls continue ASUN play on the road against Liberty University on March 25, at 3 p.m.
