The Owls (2-6-0, 1-2-0) recently wrapped the challenging non-conference portion of their schedule Thursday afternoon at No. 6 Vanderbilt in a 3-1 decision. Click here to read about KSU's growth in the match.
Now, a weathered KSU bunch can turn its attention to a UNA squad that is 1-5-0 and 0-3-0 in conference play. The Lions opened the spring with an impressive 4-1 victory over Western Kentucky, but then endured a five-game losing skid. UNA is paced by Charlotte Kellett with two goals.
Sunday marks the fifth meeting between the programs where each side has won twice. On Oct. 25, 2019, the Owls prevailed on Senior Night on a Becky Contreras goal in the 37th minute.
KSU enters the match with goalkeeper Dylan Pixton atop the ASUN leaderboard with 30 saves. Four different Owls have found the back of the net, with Erin Harris, Kameron Downs, Kendall Higgs, and Kendall Hart all scoring once, while Harris leads the Black and Gold with 14 shots and five on goal.
Following the match, KSU continues ASUN play with a home match against Bellarmine Sunday, Mar. 21.
