ATHENS, Ga. – Kennesaw State battled the full 90 minutes, but was edged late in a 2-1 loss to the University of Georgia at the Turner Soccer Complex Thursday night.
The Owls (1-3) were able to get six shots off, highlighted by Erin Harris' goal. The senior put KSU ahead first at the 7:13 mark.
However, UGA answered two seconds later on a Mollie Belisle score.
Sophomore Becky Contreras had two, while Kathryn Schreck, Kameron Downs, Kendall Hart and Harris each had one.
Goalkeeper Dylan Pixton saved 12 shots from the Bulldogs (3-4-2), who managed to get 18 shots off with 14 being on goal. The 12 saves set a new career best for the redshirt-sophomore, who had a nine-save effort the previous match at Mercer.
Abby Bogan scored the difference-maker at 78:08.
Kennesaw State will remain on the road to face Lipscomb University on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m. to begin ASUN Conference action.
