THE STORYLINE
After a hot start from the Kennesaw State men's basketball team found the Owls holding on to a one-point lead at halftime, Lipscomb turned things around for a big second half performance to down KSU 76-62 Friday night in Allen Arena.

ABDUR-RAHIM QUOTE
On KSU's defensive play…
"Tale of two halves for our team defensively. In the first half we did a good job of having active hands defensively and turning Lipscomb over 11 times. In the second half I thought we lost our identity as a team and started relying on our energy to come from if we made shots or not. We only cause two turnovers in the second half and against a great coach like Lennie Acuff and a veteran Lipscomb team that won't cut it. We need to clean some things up on both ends and be ready to bounce back tomorrow night."

HOW IT HAPPENED
After trading buckets to open Friday night's game, the Bisons ripped off a 13-0 run to give Lipscomb a 19-8 lead at the 13:33 mark. Spencer Rodgers finally ended the run with a jumper to spark a 12-0 run, featuring five points apiece for Terrell Burden and Chris Youngblood, to give KSU the lead to 20-19.

Lipscomb re-took the lead and gained some cushion behind two straight three-pointers, 31-27, as the two squads battled it out logging three ties and three lead changes in the period. The Owls chipped away at the lead in the final minutes as two buckets from Alex Peterson helped KSU outscore Lipscomb 7-2 down the stretch before two free throws from Rodgers gave KSU the halftime lead, 36-35.

Youngblood netted 12 of his 15 points in the first half as KSU shot 46.7 percent from the floor with eight steals.

The Bisons came out of the locker room hot going on a 10-2 run to lead 45-38 at the 16:41 mark. Lipscomb shot 72.7% from the floor (8-for-11) over the first few minutes of the period to lead 56-45 at the 11:58 mark. The Bisons pushed their lead to as high as 63-46 following a quick 7-0 run to push the lead to 63-46 before KSU responded with a 10-0 run of its own to cut into the lead, 63-56.

Lipscomb eventually pushed its lead back to double-figures, 70-58, holding the Owls at arm's length over the final minutes to record the final score of 76-62. KSU forced only two turnovers in the second half compared to 11 in the first period.

NOTES
- Alex Peterson recorded his first double-double as an Owl with 12 points and 11 rebounds, his first game with double-digit boards this season.
- Terrell Burden recorded a career-high four steals.
- Chris Youngblood recorded three assists marking the fourth time in the last five games he's logged three or more dimes.
- Spencer Rodgers' eight points marks only the second time this year he's been held to less than 10 points.
- KSU went 1-for-13 from three-point range in the second half, finishing 4-for-22 in the game, only the third time this year the Owls have been held to less than five three-pointers.
