Contreras, Owls Pound Presbyterian

KENNESAW, Ga. – Isabella Contreras celebrated her birthday with a goal and an assist to lead Kennesaw State to a 3-1 win over Presbyterian College Sunday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

Emely Sosa slammed her first goal of the season when Contreras passed in a ball from the left side of the box in the 31st minute.

The first half ended 1-0 with the score favoring the Owls.

Presbyterian switched goalkeepers from Megan Serrano to Alyssa Leaman to begin the second half, but KSU (4-1-0) had no issues continuing to score.

KSU buzzed the board again in the 53rd minute when Kendall Baker laid off a pass for Contreras to tap in. The Owls scored their third through Kendall Higgs, when she converted a pass from right-winger Erin Harris.

PC's (0-3-0) Peyton Patterson scored just before the final whistle (84:10) to make the score 3-1.

Tiffany Sornpao registered three saves.

KSU had 21 total shots on the night, while the Blue Hose registered seven shots.

KSU's next game is against Charleston Southern University Friday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
