STILLWATER, Okla. – The Kennesaw State University soccer team played an even second half, but an early deficit was too much in a 3-0 setback to #25 Oklahoma State Thursday at Neal Patterson Stadium.
"Hats off to Oklahoma State, they have a great team. I thought our ladies came out and played well within the game plan that we had laid out," said Head Coach Benji Walton. "Unfortunately, we made some mistakes and got punished for them. I was proud of how hard we played for 90 and thought despite the outcome we learned a lot about our team. Definitely something we can build on as we move forward."
Charme Morgan (6:49) and Grace Yochum (23:36, 27:26) scored for the Cowgirls (7-0-1).
Kameron Downs and Emely Sosa each had two shots and one on-goal to lead the Owls (5-3-0).
KSU had seven shots with three on-goal. Goalkeeper Tiffany Sornpao had four saves.
The Owls remain on the road for a Sunday showdown at #14 Kansas. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
