Terence Norman Launches Grand Slam To Guide Owls Over UNCW

KENNESAW, Ga.Terence Norman belted a grand slam in the third inning to guide the Owls over UNCW 9-8 in game two.

The Seahawks got on the board first in the third inning when they plated three runs to get out to an early start. The Owls did not take long to answer – as Norman launched a grand slam to give the Owls a 4-3 lead after three innings.

Kennesaw State added another run in the third inning after David Chabut ripped an RBI single through the left side to score A.J. Willoughby and give KSU the 5-3 lead.

UNCW plated the next four runs in the contest over the next two innings and led KSU 8-5 after six frames. With the bases loaded in the sixth inning, Tyler Simon took advantage of a wild pitch and tapped the pentagon. Two pitches later, Jake Franklin launched a double to right field to score David Chabut and Tyler Tolve to tie the ballgame.

Jaylen Smith gave the Owls their final lead of the game in the seventh inning with an RBI double to score Tyler Simon.

After Ryan Kennedy started and pitched 4.1 innings and Jake McLinskey tossed 1.2, Nathan Dupree dominated the UNCW Seahawks on the mound and earned the win.
Dupree threw 3.0 innings, allowing no runs and just a pair of hits. He fanned four batters.

Willoughby was impressive at the plate as he finished 3-for-4. Chabut added a pair of hits and an RBI in the contest.
