KENNESAW, Ga. – The Owls fell 12-4 on Sunday (April 7) afternoon in the final game of the three-game weekend set.
After UNCW plated two in the first inning, the Owls' bats came out hot, stringing together back-to-back-to-back singles for KSU's first run of the ballgame. After
David Chabut and
Jake Franklin recorded base-knocks,
Terence Norman ripped a ball to left field to push Chabut across the plate.
The Owls found themselves down 5-1 heading to the bottom of the second inning after giving up three runs in the top of the frame. The Owls responded once again, adding a run after
Jaylen Smith scored on a ground ball off the bat of Chabut.
The Seahawks extended the lead to 9-2 after the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly and a pair of RBI singles. Norman continued his impressive weekend with a double to right-center field that plated Franklin and Chabut.
After UNCW tallied two more runs in the sixth inning, the scoring from both sides came to a halt.
Brendan Bickleman tossed 1.2 innings to begin the game before Coach
Mike Sansing called for seven relief pitchers out of the bullpen.
Kennesaw State looks to get back on track on the road on Wednesday (April 10) at Georgia Southern. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
