WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team flew by Howard Sunday morning, netting a season-high 25 goals and shutting out the Bison in the second half to down Howard 25-3 and secure its spot in the ASUN Tournament.

How it Happened:Â The Owls (8-9, 3-3) came out firing to take a 2-0 lead over Howard (0-14, 0-6) thanks to goals from
Marissa Gore and
Emily Napierala. After a goal from the Bison, KSU put its foot on the gas with a 5-0 run featuring two goals each by
Abby Squires and
Anna Giulitto and one from
Siena Gore.

Howard responded with back-to-back goals to make it 7-3, but Squires put an end to the Bison rally with her third goal of the game at the 11:23 mark. KSU netted five more goals in the final 10 minutes with
Jennifer Buckley scoring back-to-back goals in under 30 seconds before closing out the period with her first career hat trick to give the Owls a 13-3 lead.

KSU did not let up in the second half as
Siena Gore notched her hat trick less than 30 seconds in. The Owls held Howard scoreless in the second half, out-scoring the Bison 12-0.

Six different Owls found the back of the net in the second half with sophomore
Madison McGhee exploding for three goals and five assists in the period, both career-high marks. Freshmen
Jaxsyn Schonewille and
RosaLee Schiemer netted their second career goals against the Bison, while
Kelly Emge scored two.

Sisely Vongphasouk logged her first career goal midway through the period.
Izzy Bertolani rounded out the scoring for KSU as the 12th and final Owl to score, recording her goal at the 3:29 mark to earn the final score of 25-3.
