ELON, N.C.- After the red-hot start against Elon, Kennesaw State went cold on the offensive side of the floor and fell 70-46.

Both defenses shined early in this contest after the teams combined for just five points through the first three minutes of the game.
Antonio Spencer gave KSU the 3-0 lead two minutes into the game with an and-one.
Terrell Burden followed suit and completed an and-one of his own to give Kennesaw State a 6-4 lead at the under-16 timeout in the first half.

Sharp-shooter
Danny Lewis pushed the Owls' lead to 10 points midway through the first half with back-to-back 3-pointers to give Kennesaw State the 18-8 advantage. The 10-0 run was capped off by a layup from
Adili Kuerban that pushed the lead to 20-8. Just 12 minutes into the contest, Lewis had already turned in double-digits for the second time this season.

Elon battled back to pull it within seven points at the 4:25 mark, but Kennesaw State flexed muscle and pushed the lead back to 10 points. Elon netted four of it its last five shots to end the half, and Kennesaw State found itself up 31-26 at the break.

Kennesaw State surrendered an 11-0 run to begin the first half after going cold on the offense and was down was trailing 37-33 at the 16:14 mark. An eventual 26-2 run gave the Phoenix a 17-point advantage at the 12-minute mark in the second half.

Kennesaw State put together a 7-0 run midway through the half to cut the lead to 12 points, at 55-43. The run was capped off by a fast break Burden layup.

The Phoenix responded with a 7-0 run and the deficient was too large for Kennesaw State to close.

Burden led Kennesaw State with 15 points while Lewis ended with 10.
