LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Kennesaw State saw three players reach double figures, but the Owls dropped Saturday night's ASUN/MAAC Challenge to Iona, 75-52, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
How It Happened:
Bryson Lockley scored first for the Owls (0-5) just over 90 seconds into the game, and
Ugo Obineke drained a three at 14:16, but Iona built a 28-9 lead over the first 11 minutes.
KSU found its rhythm later, nearly matching the MAAC favorite Gaels (2-2) basket-for-basket.
Antonio Spencer converted a Terrell Buren pass for his seventh point at 3:16 to cut the deficit to 41-23, which stood at the half.
Armani Harris scored his first of 10 points on a lay-up with 14:09 remaining, and was joined in the second half surge by teammate
C.J. Washington with a lay-in at the 12-minte mark. Washington finished with a team-high 12 points.
Notes: Washington's total came on 5-12 shooting … Harris nearly double-doubled with nine boards …
Antonio Spencer also had nine rebounds to go along with seven points … KSU held Iona to 31.8% from the floor in the second half.
