KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Owls defeated the Stetson Hatters, 3-0, at Fifth Third Bank Stadium Sunday thanks to a pair of Emely Sosa goals and stifling defense.
The Owls started hot with the two goals in the opening half. Sosa scored at 16:13 with an assist by Erin Harris. Later at 43:16, Kameron Downs rocketed in a fastbreak goal with an assist by Tiffany Sornpao.
In the second half, Sosa scored the final goal with a helper again from Harris and Becky Contreras at 53:02. Contreras led the attempts with eight shots and five on-goal.
The Owls totaled 18 shots and held the Hatters to only a pair.
KSU is now 7-6-0 and 2-2-0 in the ASUN Conference while Stetson moves 2-8-2, 0-2-1.
The Owls travel to FGCU Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. for an important ASUN match.
