KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Owls battled hard in a 1-0 defeat by the North Florida Ospreys Thursday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
"This is a hard lesson. Every time we play North Florida it has been a one-goal game. They wanted it more than we did in the first half," said Head Coach Benji Walton. "I was disappointed with our first half overall approach and I also credit North Florida. They came out ready to play."
The Owls had two consecutive shots on-goal in the second half by Becky Contreras and Isabella Contreras. In total, the Owls had six shots on-goal, but great Osprey defense kept them out of the net.
KSU fell to 6-6-0 and 1-2 in the ASUN Conference while UNF moved to 8-3-1 and 2-0 in league play.
"We have to respond and go out to training tomorrow and fix things, mainly ourselves," said Walton. "Stetson is a good team but we have to be the best version of ourselves and that's my priority for the next three days."
KSU hosts Stetson University Sunday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. for another ASUN match.
