KENNESAW, Ga. – Two second-half goals sparked the Kennesaw State women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over visiting Jacksonville Friday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

The win improved the Owls to 9-3-1 overall and 2-1 in ASUN Conference play, as they remained unbeaten at home, improving to 6-0-1 on the season. The win total is the most since KSU posted an 8-2 home mark in 2009.

HOW IT HAPPENED
» After a scoreless first half, the Owls struck for the match's first goal when freshman
Jenna Vollrath scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season on a breakaway as her shot hit off the far post and into the goal at the 52:24 mark
» KSU extended its lead to 2-0 less than 10 minutes later when
Erin Harris beat a defender inside the box and left-footed a shot for a score following a free kick by
Kendall Hart at the 59:15 mark.

Jenna Vollrath stepped up and scored on a great breakaway and kind of put us on the board," head coach
Benji Walton said. "I'm proud of the team and thought we came out and played a good game. I told them afterwards that this one is over and we have a tough one on Sunday."

» With nine wins on the season, Kennesaw State has surpassed its win total from a year ago when it finished 8-7-4.
» The Owls improved to 6-0-1 at home this season and 7-0-2 in their last nine matches at Fifth Third Bank Stadium dating back to 2017.
» With her goal on Friday,
Jenna Vollrath now has a team-leading 11 points (5 goals, one assist).

Tiffany Sornpao collected her seventh shutout of the season and 14th of her career. She currently ranks third on KSU's all-time career shutout list.
