THE STORYLINE:
· Kennesaw State lost a heartbreaker to Furman in overtime at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Sunday, April 8.

The Owls were in a defensive battle for much of the day and Furman edged them out in the end scoring four of the final five goals in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Kennesaw State came out hot scoring the first three goals of the game in the first six minutes of the game.
· The Owls would only get one more goal the rest of the half and Furman came back to tie the score including beating the buzzer for their fourth goal of the game.
· In the second half, Kennesaw State scored the first two goals and grabbed a two-goal lead again with just under 20 minutes left in the game.
· The Paladins responded by tying the score up at eight, five minutes later. KSU answered though as Anna Giulitto scored her second of the game to put the Owls up9-8.
· KSU held Furman scoreless for over seven minutes, but they ended up finding the back of the net to tie the score with 5:32 to play.
· In overtime, the Owls controlled the ball the majority of time, but couldn't get anything to go and with 24 seconds remaining in the first overtime Furman scored to win the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· The game against Furman was the second overtime game for the Owls this season and third game of the season that KSU has lost by one goal.
· Siena Gore and Anna Giulitto had multi-goal games as Gore led the way with three and Giulitto had two.
· Lauren Hoffman got the start in goal and made eight saves for the game.
· The defense was strong all day as they forced Furman deep into the shot clock for the majority of the game and caused four shot-clock violations.
