LAX: Owls Late Rally Falls Short at Detroit

Gore Leads the Team With 5 Goals

THE STORYLINE:
· Kennesaw State couldn't hold on to a second-half lead on the road at Detroit Mercy as the Titans came back to win 11-10.

Siena Gore scored five of the Owls 10 goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Kennesaw State got off to a quick start scoring two goals in just over a minute by Anna Giulitto and Siena Gore.
· The Owls continued their hot start by going up 5-1 in the in the first 10 minutes.
· After Detroit got a couple of goals back, the Owls defense and goalie Lauren Hoffman stepped up in the final 16 minutes of the half only giving up two goals in the final 16 minutes preserving a 7-5 lead at the break.
· Detroit scored five of the first six goals to start the second half to take a 10-8 lead with 8:06 remaining.
· The Owls scored two goals in under a minute to tie the score at 10 with 5:00 minutes left.
· Both teams had chances, but Detroit got one of their chances to go to get the 11-10 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· Gore scored five more goals to bring her season total to 37. She also led the team with five draw controls and four caused turnovers.
· Giulitto was second on the team with two goals in the game.
· The Owls forced 13 turnovers in the game led by Gore's four. Connor Zophy, RoseAnna Schiemer and Maura Palandro also had multiple caused turnovers as Zophy had three and Schiemer and Palandro had two.
· Playing in front of family, Hoffman made eight saves in the net.

UP NEXT
The Owls will stay in Michigan and take on Central Michigan on Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m.
