THE STORYLINE:
· Kennesaw State dropped its road contest to No. 20 Duke, falling to the Blue Devils 21-7 in Durham, North Carolina.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
·
Siena Gore got the Owls on the board, but KSU faced a deficit early as Duke came out of the gate scoring the first four goals.
· The Blue Devils built onto their lead in the first half, but in all Kennesaw State totaled four goals in the first 30 minutes.
· In the second half, the Owls totaled three goals as
Marissa Gore,
Anna Giulitto and
Connor Zophy each put one in the back of the net to total the final score of 21-7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· Gore totaled all three of her goals in the first half. She also won six draw controls and caused two turnovers.
·
Lauren Hoffman got the start in goal and came up with seven saves in 41:09.
· Four different players scored in the game led by three from Gore and two from Zophy.
· The Owls only had 12 turnovers on the afternoon.
·
Grace Lascara got her first action in goal. She made two saves.
