LAX: Owls Big Second Half Leads Them Past Quinnipiac

KSU Outscores Bobcats 9-2 in Second Half

THE STORYLINE: 
· Kennesaw State used a huge second half outscoring the Quinnipiac Bobcats 9-2 in the second half to get a 12-5 win at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Wednesday, March 14.
 
Lauren Hoffman had seven saves with a .583 save percentage.
  
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
· Marissa Gore scored less than 30 seconds into the game, but both sides had trouble finding the back of the net in the first half.
· The teams were tied at three after Connor Zophy scored with 1 second on the clock to knot things up at 3 heading into halftime.
· The second half was all Kennesaw State as the Owls outscored the Bobcats 9-2 over the final 30 minutes including scoring eight straight goals.
· The Owls defense swarmed around all game, holding Quinnipiac to only two goals in the second half to help Kennesaw State pull away at home for the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 
· The win is the first one at home this season.
· Kennesaw State's defense held the Bobcats to only five goals. That is the lowest output the Owls have held a team to this season. The least amount of goals KSU has allowed in program history was three last season.
· Siena Gore led the team with four goals. She also won 7 of the team's 14 draw controls.
· The Owls crushed Quinnipiac on the draw winning 14 to their 4.
· Four other Owls had two goals to total their 12.
· Hoffman finished the game with seven saves with a .583 save percentage.  
 
UP NEXT
Kennesaw State will travel to take on the Duke Blue Devils on Monday, March 19. First draw is at 3 p.m.
