NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Kennesaw State got a career night from
Nick Masterson, but the Owls couldn't overcome the Lipscomb Bisons in the final game of the regular season as the Owls fell 83-74 at Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Masterson set a new career high with 30 points. He went 12-16 from the floor and was 4-4 from three.
James Scott also had a good night on offense as the sophomore guard had 21 points.
With under four minutes to play in the first half, Lipscomb closed the half on an 11-2 run putting themselves up 44-33 at the break.
Going into the second half, the close of the first half killed the Owls as the closest they got in the second half was six points.
For the game, Kennesaw State shot 57 percent from the floor as a team, but had trouble slowing down Lipscomb as they shot 55 percent.
Masterson and Scott did their best to keep pace with Lipscomb as the two combined for 51 of the team's 74 points. It's the third time this season the two have combined to score over 50 points between them.
Before the final buzzer sounded between Kennesaw State and Lipscomb, the seeding in the ASUN tournament was determined after NJIT and Jacksonville victories.
The Owls are the six seed and will be traveling to play the Jacksonville Dolphins on Monday, February 26 at 7 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium.

- The Owls finish the regular season with a 10-19 record and a 6-8 ASUN record.
- Masterson finished the game with a career high 30 points on 12-16 shooting from the floor. The senior was also 4-4 on his three-point attempts.
- Scott also had a good night on the offensive end scoring 21 points. It was his 10th game this season scoring 20-plus points in a game.
- Carried by Masterson and Scott, the Owls shot 57 percent from the floor going 29-51 from the floor.
- The other Kennesaw State player in double figures was Tyler Hooker who had 10 points.
- Isaac Mbuyamba played a career high 28 minutes and led the team with seven rebounds.
