JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's basketball team saw its 2017-18 season end against the Jacksonville Dolphins in the quarterfinals of the ASUN Championship 87-68 in Historic Swisher Gymnasium.

Sophomore guard James Scott led the way for the Owls with 26 points on 10-18 shooting. Nick Masterson was the other Owl in double figures with 14 points.

After leading by eight at halftime, the Dolphins used a huge run early in the second half to pull away from the Owls. Despite an attempt at a furious rally, Kennesaw State couldn't overcome the big deficit.

The score was tied seven times and the lead changed eight times in the first 12 minutes as each team went back and forth at each other.

Towards the end of the first half, JU separated themselves stretching their lead out to eight and took that lead into the break, up 40-32.

In the first seven minutes of the second, Jacksonville outscored Kennesaw State 19-7 to build a 20-point lead.

The Owls tried to mount a late rally cutting the lead down to 13, but didn't get any closer than that.

KSU finishes the season 10-20 overall with the final loss.
