KENNESAW, Ga. – With a share of the ASUN Conference regular-season title and the No. 1 seed to the conference tournament on the line, the Kennesaw State women's soccer team battled Lipscomb into overtime before falling, 1-0, Sunday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
» Neither team controlled the first half as they managed five shots apiece during the first 45 minutes.
» The Owls dictated the tempo in the second half, playing in the Lipscomb half of the field a majority of the time, finishing the period with a 12-3 shot advantage.
» Kennesaw State and Lipscomb battled back and forth for the first seven minutes of overtime before the Bisons found an opening on the left side of the goal and Maycie McKay received a ball from Olivia Doak and scored the game-winner at the 97:47 mark.
COACH SPEAK
"I was very, very pleased with the girls. It was one of those heartbreaking games," head coach
Benji Walton said. "You do everything you needed to do to win the game, but it was one of the times where you couldn't do what you needed to do to put the ball in the net.
Â
"It's a tough pill to swallow because if you win this, you're the No. 1 seed and are regular season champions," Walton added. "The good thing is we have games left and our biggest goal has always been the tournament. That is ahead of us and we're excited and will be as ready as anyone."
