KENNESAW, Ga. – Coming out with energy, the Kennesaw State women's soccer team concluded a four-match homestand with a 3-0 victory over visiting UNC Asheville Sunday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

The Owls (5-1-2) received goals freshman from Erin Harris and seniors Ashtah Das and Jessica Sexton while posting their fifth shutout of the season, including the third in their last four matches.

EARLY SCORE
The Owls got off to a quick start as Erin Harris gave KSU a 1-0 lead, scoring off a saved shot following a shot by Ashtah Das at the 9:27 mark. Harris' second goal of the season was the lone score of the first half as Kennesaw State took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

FINDING A RYTHYM
The Owls sealed the match within a span of seven minutes midway through the second half. Jessica Sexton had a breakaway along the left side and fed a cross to Ashtah Das, who headed in a goal to give KSU a 2-0 lead at the 62:35 mark. Sexton capped the scoring in the 70th minute, getting a steal and scoring on a breakaway to extend the lead to 3-0.

QUOTING THE COACH
"The first half we had trouble getting a rhythm going, but it was good to get an early goal," head coach Benji Walton said. "I thought we attacked well, but defensively we had a difficult time dealing with their pressure. At halftime, we told them we have to communicate better and sort out some of the problems they were creating because they were pressing us. The last 35 minutes we started playing with the rhythm that I am accustomed to seeing every day in training. I am proud of the fight and this was a good home win for us."

WALTON ON THREE PLAYERS SCORING
"It's good because you don't have to rely on one player. We have been working on offense a lot this week to try and get more of a rhythm on that end. They were good goals as we had good build up to them and they were from people we need to get going."

WALTON ON A 3-1 HOMESTAND
"It's always good to be home and do well in front of your fans. Today was a good win, and we had three shutouts here at home. We are proud of our defense and hopefully we keep it going because we have a lot of home games this year."

SORNPAO POSTS ANOTHER SHUTOUT
Redshirt freshman Tiffany Sornpao posted her fifth shutout in her last six matches and has a 0.48 goals-against average.
