LAX: Owls Fall Late to Old Dominion, 16-14

Farwick Leads the Way with 4 Goals and 1 Assist

THE STORYLINE: 
· The Owls mounted a big second-half comeback, but couldn't quite get over the hump falling to Old Dominion 16-14 in Norfolk, Virginia. Sydney Farwick led Kennesaw State with four goals and an assist while also winning six draw controls.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
· After both teams were all tied up at two, the Monarchs used a 6-0 first-half run to take the early 8-2 advantage.
· Over the final 15 minutes of the half, KSU battled back scoring two straight goals to get back within four, but ODU answered with two goals in the final 36 seconds that would prove to be huge goals down the stretch later in the game.
· Looking for a comeback, Kennesaw State came out pushing hard in the second half and scored six of the first seven goals to claw back within one goal.
· KSU got within one goal two more times in the game, but couldn't get over the hump to tie things up as ODU got the last goal with 1:53 remaining to go on and win by two goals.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 
· Farwick led the way with four goals and an assist while also winning six draw controls. She has scored the most on the team this season with 38 goals.
· McGhee also finished with six draw controls while scoring twice. She has 97 career goals in an Owls uniform.
· Haley Swift and Taylor Catts also chipped in with two goals each. Swift finished the game with four points as she also had two assists.
· Alex Bunn came up big in the net with eight saves.

UP NEXT
The Owls will come back home for their final two home games of the 2017 season. They will kick the weekend off against Coastal Carolina on Friday at 3 p.m. before taking on Furman for Senior Day on Sunday, April 30 at noon.
