Swift Leads the Team With Five Goals

THE STORYLINE: 
· Kennesaw State trailed by two goals at halftime and Mercer used a 6-0 run in the second half to open up a lead that the Owls couldn't recover from at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The Owls fell to the Bears 18-9 on Sunday, April 2.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
· The two teams traded goals back and forth early as four different players totaled five goals tying Mercer at five.
· The Bears went on a 4-0 run to go up 9-5, but the Owls responded with two goals before halftime to cut the deficit to two.
· Mercer halted the Owls momentum out of the break, scoring the first two goals of the second half stretching their lead back to four.
· Swift tried to keep the Owls close, but Mercer's offense led by Lindsey Zeltwanger was too strong as they went on a 6-0 run to seal the ASUN matchup 18-9.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 
· Over the past six games, Swift has scored 23 goals and assisted on 11 goals. She is currently the team leader with 40 points.
 · Sydney Farwick had a good defensive game leading the team with four caused turnovers and winning four draw controls.
· Freshman Riley Proshek was a lift off the bench causing a career high two turnovers.
 
UP NEXT
The Owls have a busy spring break as they will host three games in a four day stretch starting with Notre Dame on Thursday, April 6 at 1 p.m.
