THE STORYLINE:Â
· The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team tried to mount a second half comeback against Central Michigan, but fell just short as the Owls dropped the road contest 17-16 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The Owls fought back to tie up the score at 13 late in the second half, but couldn't get all the way over the hump as the Chips held on for the victory in the final seconds after reclaiming the lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
· The teams traded goals back and forth early until it was tied at three, and the Owls got a little separation after goals from
Connor Zophy and
Taylor McGhee to go up 5-3.
· Central Michigan bounced back from the two-goal deficit by going on a 4-0 run and scored six of the next seven goals to take a 9-6 lead.
· KSU closed the half strong going on a 3-1 run to get within one at the break at 10-9.
· In the second half, Kennesaw State tied the score up at 13 after two goals from
Haley Swift with 13:09 remaining, but CMU had an answer once again running off two straight of their own to go back up two.
· The Owls got back within one a couple times in the final 10 minutes and had several chances to even the score up again, but couldn't find the back of the net as Central Michigan held on for the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:Â
· Despite the loss, the Owls secured a split on the road this weekend going 1-1 after defeating Detroit on Friday.
· McGhee led the Owls with five goals on the day. She also picked up three ground balls.
· As a team, KSU caused 15 of the Chips 23 turnovers. That is the second most caused turnovers in a game this season.
· Zophy and
Izzy Palermo each had three goals in the game.
·
Sydney Farwick won five draw controls and scooped up three ground balls. She also caused one turnover to go with her two goals
· The team won the draw control battle 18-17 against Central Michigan and picked up 29 to their 23 ground balls in the game.

Kennesaw State will return home where they are 4-1 on the season to host the Mercer Bears on Sunday, April 2 at 1 p.m.
