THE STORYLINE:
· Seniors Taylor McGhee and Sydney Farwick kept the Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team in the game with two early goals, but the Marquette Golden Eagles offense stepped up using a 6-0 run to push the game out of reach for the Owls.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· The Golden Eagles drew first blood going up 3-0 after the first 10 minutes of action, but McGhee and Farwick settled in scoring back-to-back goals to pull within one.
· After Kennesaw State battle back to get within one, Marquette found their rhythm on the offensive end. The Golden Eagles went on a 6-0 run to push their lead out to 9-2 before KSU's Emily Napierala found the back of the net.
· After one more goal by Farwick in the half, the Owls trailed 10-4 at the break.
· Out of the locker room, Kennesaw State wanted to grab the momentum, but it was Marquette that got it going first with three quick goals. After two quick goals from the Owls to get it back within seven, Marquette didn't let KSU get any closer than that the rest of the way.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· Farwick scored a hat-trick to lead the Owls with three goals, but she wasn't the only player with three points for Kennesaw State. Freshmen Izzy Palermo and Emily Napierala each had three points as Palermo had two goals and one assist and Napierala had one goal and two assists.
· McGhee was big on the draw for Kennesaw State winning six. Overall, draw controls were tight with Marquette slightly edging out KSU 15-14.
· Alex Bunn got the start and for the second game in a row made double-digit saves with 12. That gives her three career games with double-digit saves. Bunn also had three ground balls.
