THE STORYLINE:
· Kennesaw State won its fifth straight match to move to 14-4 and 8-1 in ASUN play after sweeping NJIT in straight sets on Friday, October 27.

The win was not only the sixth straight victory over the Highlanders since they joined the ASUN, but it also clinched the Owls spot in the ASUN Tournament this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Owls wasted little time in the sweep against NJIT, controlling the match by holding the Highlanders to hit .000 with 24 kills and 24 errors.

In the first set, Kennesaw State took an early 8-3 lead. NJIT came back to tie the score at 17, but KSU surged on an 8-2 run to close the set out 25-19.

Leading 9-7 in the second set, the Owls used a 7-0 run to open up a big lead at 16-7. The Highlanders got back within three points later in the set, but three straight points by KSU closed out the set 25-19.

In the third set, NJIT used an early run to go up 13-9. Looking to close things out in straight sets, the Owls finished the set off going on a 16-3 run to seal the victory and their ASUN Tournament birth.

SCHUNZEL QUOTE:
"Happy to get out of here with a 3-0 win. Playing on the road challenges you in a lot of different ways, and I think we learned a few things about ourselves tonight that we'll be able to take with us the rest of the way. Another big match for Anaiah Boyer, who was very good at the net for us tonight."
