Â
Following its shutout over Jacksonville on Friday, Kennesaw State has totaled six shutouts on the season, equaling its season total from a year ago. The program single-season record is 13 set in 2002.
Â
Quoting Head Coach Benji Walton
"This is a special group of seniors. From the first day I stepped on campus these five were fully committed into doing whatever it took to try and improve this soccer program," head coach
Benji Walton said. "As a new coach, when inherited players believe in your vision, it's truly the greatest sign of respect a coach could ask for."
Â
Week in Review
Kennesaw State opened last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Jacksonville Friday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Senior defender
Abby Roth struck a free kick just beyond an outreached hand of the goalkeeper and inside the right post in the 83rd minute to break a scoreless tie that sparked the Owls to the victory.
Â
On a wet and rainy afternoon, Kennesaw State was held to just three shot attempts and fell 1-0 to visiting North Florida Sunday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The Ospreys scored the decisive goal 15 minutes into the contest and played strong defense against the Owls.
