THE STORYLINE:
· Kennesaw State pushed Detroit late in the game, but the Titans used a 6-1 second-half run to stretch out their lead and go on to win 18-11 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
· Despite the setback to Detroit today, the Owls clinched a berth in the 2016 Atlantic Sun Conference tournament that will be held right here in Kennesaw, Georgia at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The tournament will start Thursday, May 5.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
· After Detroit struck first, KSU's
Connor Zophy got the Owls on the board to even the score up at one.
· After falling down 3-1,
Olivia Hokanson and
Taylor McGhee carried the Owls on a quick 3-0 run to take the lead.
· Once the Owls took the lead, both teams went back and forth, each having an answer for the other until halftime, where Detroit led 8-7. The Owls trailed by as many as three goals in the first half, but continued to come back behind Hokanson and McGhee.
·
Sydney Farwick struck first in the second half to even things up at eight, but Detroit took over the game after that building up its lead. As the Owls attempted another comeback, the Titans used that late run to put things out of reach for the Owls.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· Kennesaw State celebrated
Kyra Fitzgerald,
Brittany Jackson and
Jessica Alderdice before the game for senior day. These seniors were the first senior class in Kennesaw State lacrosse history.

· Hokanson's six goals are a season high for her. She currently has 42 on the season and is one goal away from tying her season high set in 2014.
· McGhee had a very strong weekend finishing it off scoring six goals in the two games. She also had seven draw controls today.
·
