Final Results
Gainesville, Fla. – Members of the men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition in the Pepsi Florida Relays at James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track on Saturday (Apr.2).
"Today was typical of most track meets with ups and downs, but all-in-all I'm pleased," Director of Track and Field
Andy Eggerth said. "The day was highlighted by Andre's Nation leading TJ, finishing 2nd only to Teddy Tamgho the indoor world record holder. Our men's shuttle hurdle relay was on pace to post a world lead until a fall over the final hurdle, only to drop to third; still breaking the school record."
Andre Dorsey finished as the top collegiate in the triple jump with a new school record jump of 16.10m (52-10). Which broke his previous school record of 15.76m which he set at the Emory Invitational early this season.
The men's 4x100m short hurdle relay team of
Terrell Singleton,
Andre Dorsey,
Bilal Abdullah, and
Dayo Akindele finished third overall setting a school record with a time of 58.50 seconds which is third best in the world this season.
The women's 4x100 short hurdle relay team of
De'Von Johnson,
Jocselyn Powell,
Jordan Gray, and
Laura-Maria Oja finished fifth amongst collegiate teams in 56.63 seconds.
The Owls will compete in the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational hosted by Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. April 8-9.
