LEXINGTON, Ky. – Gage Voyles and
Kenyatta Bennett of the Kennesaw State men's track and field team punched their tickets to Eugene, Oregon in the high jump at NCAA East First Rounds Friday at UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
Gage Voyles and
Kenyatta Bennett each cleared 2.16m (7'1") to finish tied for first in the high jump. The duo joins Andre Dorsey (2016) as the only Owls to have reached the finals in the high jump. They are just the second duo in Conference USA history to qualify for Eugene and the first since 2000. They will compete on Friday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Notable Performances
The men's 4x400m relay squad of
Pishon Haughton,
Justin Warner,
Marion Clark and
Eric Young II set the school record tonight with a time of 3:04.51 to place 16th.
Joao Dalandrea placed 43
rd in the discus with a toss of 50.65m (166'2").
