BRASELTON, Ga. – Led by a 1-under par 71 from junior Teremoana Beaucousin, the Kennesaw State men's golf team maintained its lead following Monday's second-round action at the 2016 Atlantic Sun Conference Championships at the par-72, 7,032-yard Legends Course at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga.

The Owls, who are seeking their first conference title since 2011 and sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, carded a 3-over par 291 and are 2-under par 574 through 36 holes. Kennesaw State holds a two-shot advantage over North Florida (576, E) eight shots in front of third-place Jacksonville (582, +6).

"We would accept this position if you would have given it to us before the tournament," head coach Bryant Odom said. "With Wyatt's (Larkin) start and Fred's (Fredrik Nilehn) start. Fred got it back, unfortunately he didn't finish as well as he'd like. Teremoana stayed steady all day and Jake (Fendt) was right there all day, and Chris (Guglielmo) had a really nice round.

"If these guys can put it all together tomorrow, I think we can be standing here with a victory," Odom added. "The pins were definitely a little tougher today. I thought it was a nice mix of some difficult pins and scoreable pins. Tomorrow is going to be the same. We just have to stick to our game plan and try to execute to the best we can and avoid some of the mistakes that got us in a bit of trouble today.

Beaucousin and Nilehn are currently tied for third with an even-par score of 244, three shots behind North Florida's Andrew Allgood, who will take the lead into Tuesday's final round with a 3-under par total of 141, one shot ahead of Jacksonville's David Wicks (142, -2).

Following a 2-over par 74, freshman Jake Fendt is tied for ninth at 1-over par 145, while Larkin (146, +2) is tied for 13th and Guglielmo (147, +3) is tied for 15th.

The A-Sun Conference Championships conclude on Tuesday with the third round scheduled to get underway at 8 a.m. (ET). Kennesaw State will be grouped with North Florida and Jacksonville and will tee off at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
