ON DECKKennesaw State opens a busy week of action on Tuesday (Mar. 8) when it travels to Jacksonville, Ala. to take on Jacksonville State at University Field at 5 p.m. (ET). The contest marks the first of six games the Owls will play during the week.
Kennesaw State will also host Boston College in a midweek game on Thursday (Mar. 10) at Bailey Field before traveling to Cookeville, Tenn. for the Tennessee Round Robin hosted by Tennessee Tech.
The Owls are currently 12-4 on season after posting a 2-2 record and advancing to the championship game of the Gamecock Invitational hosted by South Carolina in Columbia over the weekend.Kennesaw State recorded wins over Connecticut (9-1) and Michigan State (2-0). The Owls two losses were to host South Carolina.
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE STATEJacksonville State is currently 8-10 on the season and is coming off a series loss to Samford over the weekend. After splitting a doubleheader on Saturday, the Gamecocks fell 7-4 in Sunday's series finale. Jacksonville State is batting .285 as a team and has five players batting .300 or better. Junior Stephanie Lewis leads the Gamecocks with a .362 average and junior Emily Church tops the club with three home runs and 16 RBIs. Jacksonville State has a 5.30 ERA and is led in the circle by senior Casey Akenberger (3-2, 3.12 ERA) and junior Taylor West (3-2, 4.06).
NOTES* Kennesaw State is 12-4 overall and off to its second-best 16-game start during the Division I Era. The 2013 team opened the year 13-3 and won 19 of its first 22 games en route to 34-20 final record.

Logan Viers, who has 47 strikeouts on the season, is six punch outs away from 100 for her career.

Morgan Sikes is also nearing 100 career strikeouts as she enters this week with 90 for her career.

Katie Cannington is 9-for-9 in stolen base attempts to top the club.
