DELAND, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team lost in a hard-fought, grind-it-out dual match against Atlantic Sun Conference foe Stetson Thursday afternoon by a score of 4-3.
Playing at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center, Kennesaw State earned the all-important doubles point, taking the first two matches to take a 1-0 advantage into singles play. Doubles tandem of
David Durham and
Drew Wendel took down the Hatters, 6-4, before
Manuel Castellanos and
Simon Pritchard won 6-2 to secure the point.
However, the Hatters won four of the six singles matches to earn a 4-3, come-from-behind victory. In singles play,
Manuel Castellanos (7-5, 7-6) and
Drew Wendel (7-6, 4-6, 6-4) won their matches, while Stetson took matches No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 to earn the conference victory.
