Photo GalleryMARIETTA, Ga.– The Kennesaw State men's tennis team defeated visting Mercer, 6-1, on Wednesday (March 2) afternoon at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center in non-conference action.
For the fifth consecutive match, the Owls got the all-important doubles point to jumpstart the dual match and take a 1-0 lead. Doubles tandems of
Drew Wendel/
David Durham (6-2),
Alejandro Valencia/Simon Pritchard (6-1) and
Jorge Wilton/Lucas de Torres Cuth (6-2) anchored the matches to give KSU the first point on the day.
The momentum carried as Kennesaw State won five our of six singles matches to seal the win. The Owls got big performances from, Pritchard (7-5, 6-2), Durham (6-4, 6-1), Valencia (6-4, 6-2), De Torres Cuth (6-3, 6-4) and
Drew Wendel (5-7,6-2,6-2).
De Torres Curth clinched the day with his victory over the Bears and give the Owls their sixth consecutive win of the season and move their record to 6-1.
