A LOOK AT THE MATCHUP …The Kennesaw State women's basketball program begins a three-game homestand at the KSU Convocation Center, entering the week with a 7-4 mark in front of the Owl faithful. KSU will take on USC Upstate (Feb. 10) at 7 p.m. before taking on Jacksonville (Feb. 13) at 2 p.m. and North Florida (Feb. 15) at 7 p.m. The Owls enter the week with a 1-2 mark against the three teams.

SCOUTING USC UPSTATE...- Head coach Tammy George entered her 11th season at the helm of the Spartans' basketball program, and is in her 13th season overall as a head coach.
- George has guided the Spartans to an NCAA Division II Tournament appearance and has led the team to its best year in 15 seasons, as the 2009-10 Spartans won 20 games.
- George has coached at both the NAIA and NCAA levels and coached four conference players of the year.
- The Spartans are located in Spartanburg, S.C. and was founded in 1967, with an enrollment of 6,000.
- Upstate's colors are Green, White and Black and compete in the G.B. Hodge Center, and compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
- Brittany Starling leads the Spartans in scoring (16.2) and rebounds (12.3), good for a double-double average.
- Kristen Dickerson is the second Spartan player to average double-figures this season, averaging 10.1 points per game in 21 games.
- In addition, USC Upstate has three players just under 10 points per game, as Brittany Clency (9.9), Raven Jefferson (9.1) and Travonda Haddock (8.4) are all key contributors in the scoring column.

SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE...- Jacksonville was founded in 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida and currently has an enrollment of 3,936 students.
- Jacksonville's nickname is the Dolphins and compete at the Swisher Gymnasium (1,500) and its colors are Green and Gold.
- Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin is currently in her third season at the program, and holds a 39-46 overall record entering the weekend.
- McPhee-McCuin is assisted by Camille Collier, Darnell Haney and Ed Mahan.
- The Dolphins' first season of basketball was the 1999-00 season and holds a 179-266 (.401) all-time record in 16 seasons.
- Jacksonville's record was 12-17 overall and 6-8 in the A-Sun a season ago, and will return five letterwinners and two starters.

- The junior forward notched two-straight 23-point performances against Lipscomb and North Florida, taking home A-Sun Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks.

Aareon Smith is averaging 11.0 points per game over her last three games, scoring 12 against NJIT last Saturday, 10 at USC Upstate and eight more on the road at NJIT.
- Meanwhile, Smith returns to the KSU Convocation this week and is shooting 35 percent from beyond the arc and is averaging 9.6 points per game.

Allison Johnson posted her first career double-double as an Owl last Saturday, posting career-highs of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
- Johnson, however, tallied 16 points and 13 rebounds on the road at NJIT last week, totaling new career highs.
- In fact, Johnson has totaled both her double-doubles and career high numbers against the Highlanders.
- The Owls, in fact, are 4-0 when the freshman scores in double-figures this season.
-Â For the season, Johnson is averaging 4.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 16.3 minutes of action.

HITTING THE GLASS…- Kennesaw State enters the week ranked third in offensive rebounds, pulling down 37.5 boards on the glass.
- The Owls also rank fourth in defensive rebounds, pulling down 38.2 rebounds per game.

Deandrea Sawyers has made 121 3-pointers over her first two seasons with the Owls. The most made 3-pointers in a season was 78 by Taylor Mills in 2011-12, which Sawyers fell just 15 shy of breaking that record.
- Sawyers has made only seven 3-pointers this season, but has kept her 1,000 point pace by scoring 174 total points and averaging 8.3 points per game.
- Sawyers is 48 points (8.0 points per game needed for the remainder of the season) away from reaching the
1,000 point plateau in 2015-16. She would be only the third player to accomplish the milestone since the Owls turned Division I in 2005-06.

Kelly Dulkoski and
Aareon Smith ranks third and fifth, respectively, in the Atlantic Sun Conference in 3-point field goal percentage entering the week.
- Smith, a two-time ASUN Player of the Week this season, is currently shooting 36 percent from the floor, and ranks second on the team with 40 makes from beyond the arc.
- Meanwhile, Dulkoski is shooting 37.8 percent from the floor and has made a team-high 56 makes from beyond the arc this season.
- The two are averaging 19.3 points per game combined and has totaled 73 percent of the Owls' makes from distance this season.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE…-
Jasmine McAllister notched her eighth of the season against USC Upstate with 11 points and 13 boards, her first double-double since Thomas University on Dec. 29.
- Four of her eight double-doubles this season have been on KSU home floor – Presbyterian, Western Carolina, New Orleans and Thomas.
- The senior totaled 13 points and 15 rebounds against the Musketeers and then totaled 14 points and 13 boards against Thomas.
- Her 15 rebounds against Xavier notched her fifth game of pulling down 15 rebounds – four shy of her career high.
- She currently leads the team averaging 10.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
- Most recently, McAllister fell one rebound shy of her ninth double-double, posting 19 points and nine rebounds at Jacksonville.
- McAllister totaled a season-high 20 points against NJIT in the Owls' 82-77 double overtime win.
