Tennis Preview
The Kennesaw State men's tennis squad will ride its five match winning streak into Fair Oaks Park in Marietta, Georgia to take on in-state rival Mercer. The dual match is a rescheduled event from a week ago as the match got rained out.
 
The Bears enter the week sitting at 3-9 overall, while Eastern Kentucky hosts KSU at the Outdoor Tennis Courts in Richmond, Kentucky with a 8-7 overall mark.
 
The Series
Mercer holds a 5-1 mark all-time over the Owls, with KSU's last dual match victory coming in the 2012-13 season.
 
Meanwhile, Kennesaw State holds a 1-0 mark over the Colonels, with the lone match being played in the 2013-14 season.  
 
The Last Time Out
The Kennesaw State men's tennis team defeated Wofford, 5-2, on Sunday (Feb. 28) afternoon in its first home match since 2012 at the Dr. Betty L. Siegel Student Center.
 
For the fifth consecutive match, the Owls got all-important doubles point to jumpstart the dual match and take a 1-0 lead. Doubles tandem of Simon Pritchard and Manuel Castellanos (6-3) and Alejandro Valencia and Jorge Wilton (6-2) anchored the matches to give KSU the first point on the day.
 
The momentum carried as Kennesaw State won four singles matches to seal the win. The Owls got big performances from, Castellanos (6-3, 6-3), Durham (6-2, 6-4),  Lucas de Torres Curth (6-3, 6-2), and Samuel Slade (6-3.6-7,12-10).
 
De Torres Curth clinched the day with his victory over the Terriers and give the Owls their fifth consecutive win of the season and move their record to 5-1.  
 
Next Up
The Owls will welcome Louisiana to campus on Sunday, March 13 at 9 a.m.
