KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State drew even with Siena for 30 minutes at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Thursday, February 25, but the Saints pulled away in the second half to secure the victory 12-7.

Freshman goalie Alex Bunn came up big for the Owls tying a school record with 16 saves to keep KSU within striking distance throughout the game.

The Saints came out from the first draw and put a lot of pressure on Bunn and the Owls defense, but they both responded limiting Siena to only four first half goals.

Kennesaw State trailed twice by two goals in the first half, but the Owls were resilient and efficient on the offensive end netting four goals on 10 shots from four different players to tie the score up at halftime.

Bunn finished the first half with nine saves and a .692 save percentage.

Out of the locker room, Siena went on a 4-0 run over the first 13 minutes in the second half to grab an 8-4 lead and take control of the game.

The owls still didn't back down and once KSU settled back into the game plan, they netted three more goals to bring the final score to 12-7.

Olivia Hokanson led KSU with three points scoring two goals and had one assist.

The Owls will finish their four game home stand this Sunday, February 28 against Longwood at 1 p.m.

On the Siena Game
"A loss is never satisfying for us, however, I feel that we executed our game plan for the majority of the game. Our defensive unit took our game plan seriously and committed to what we needed to do in order to be successful. Our attack was hungry for scoring opportunities and showed respect for our possessions. We had two key players out today, but our depth is capable of rising to the occasion. I want to highlight the consistent excellence of Alex Bunn in the cage, she kept us in when we needed to make adjustments."
- Head Coach Kristina Llanes
