Batting Practice
- The Kennesaw State University baseball program begins its 33rd season of varsity play in 2016 when the Owls take part in the annual Atlanta Classic for three games.
- KSU enters the 2016 season with an all-time record of 1,152-687-2 (.626) entering the season.
- The Owls, who began Division I play in 2006, have an all-time record of 303-267 (.531) in 10 seasons since joining the Atlantic Sun Conference.
- Head coach Mike Sansing enters his 25th season at the helm of the Black and Gold. Sansing holds a career mark of 1,015-547 (.654) as the manager of the Owls.
- Coach Sansing won his 1,000th career game on March 27, 2015 against USC Upstate.
- Sansing's three assistant coaches return for another season with the Owls in 2015. Kevin Erminio enters his 10th season as the assistant head coach and pitching coach, while Derek Simmons and Trey Fowler each return for their fourth season under Sansing. Assistant athletic trainer Chris Archambeault also returns to the Owls' bench for his ninth season.
- Kennesaw State has finished with a winning record in 26 of its first 32 seasons of baseball.

Opening Weekend Facts
- KSU will enter its 25th season under the helm of head coach Mike Sansing, holding a 17-7 record on opening day.
- In fact, the Owls hold an impressive 14-3 mark at Stillwell Stadium since 1992 on opening day.
- Kennesaw State holds a 3-4 mark away from home in its season openers.
- The Owls have outscored their opponents 170-115 over Mike Sansing's 24 season openers since joining the KSU family.
- In fact, Kennesaw State has averaged 7.1 runs per game, while holding opponents to 4.7 runs per game.

Pitching Rotation Set…
- LHP Chris Erwin will toe the rubber in KSU's season opener. He went 5-4 with a 4.92 ERA in eight starts last year. Erwin also made 16 total appearances and had two saves.
- RHP Gabe Friese will be the Owls Saturday guy on the bump, coming off a respectable 5-5 season with a 3.57 ERA. Friese struck out 46 batters in 68.0 IP.
- Sophomore RHP AJ Moore will close things out on Sunday, as he went 3-2 with a 5.05 ERA in 2015. Moore finished with 60 strikeouts in 57.0 IP.

Things To Be Aware Of…
- Chris Erwin batted .320 in 2015, ranking fifth in the all-time top 10 D-I records list in best batting averaging in his career since 2014.
- Alex Liquori is eight triples away from breaking the D-I KSU record of 14 set by Jacob Robbins (2006-09), and is two shy of being in third. Currently Liquori ranks fourth on the list with seven.
- Mike Sansing won his 1,000th career game last March, and now sits with 1,015 career victories entering the 2016 season.
- Sansing is 87 wins away from winnings his 1,000th career game at Kennesaw State, yet reaching another milestone.
