KENNESAW, Ga. – After honoring Yonel Brown and Nigel Pruitt on senior night, Kennesaw State took care of business in its last regular season home game in the KSU Convocation Center, beating Jacksonville 90-69.

Brown led the team like he has during his entire career posting 27 points going 9-14 from the field. He also had six rebounds and five assists.

The Owls only trailed for 41 seconds and that was when JU hit a free throw to lead 1-0.

In the first half, KSU built a lead as large as 16 points after Pruitt made a pair of free throws with 1:35 remaining. Facing the 16-point deficit, JU went on a 6-0 run to make the score 44-34 at halftime.

Out of the break, the Dolphins got as close as six points, but KSU quickly pushed it back to 12 points forcing Jacksonville to use a timeout with 13:33 remaining in the game.

The Owls lead only got to single-digits one more time after that as the KSU defense held Jacksonville to 36.7 percent shooting for the game.

Despite the Dolphins going 22-34 from the free throw line, Kennesaw State still built a lead as large as 23 points and went on to win 90-69.

Pruitt finished the game with nine points and five rebounds.

After the first weekend sweep since the 2010-11 season, Kennesaw State will now travel to Deland, Florida to take on Stetson on Thursday, February 18 at 7 p.m.

On the team's defensive intensity against Jacksonville
"The thing I was probably most pleased about is I think earlier in the season when we got fouls that we considered cheap fouls we would get frustrated. The last couple of games that hasn't happened. We just continued to play and when guys are playing like that, that means they're giving up themselves to the team because they continue to put forth effort regardless of the foul situation. I think earlier in the year, everyone was concerned with themselves and worried to play tough defense if they were in foul trouble. I changed practice up a little bit to make a point with that, but they've gone out and exercised some of the things that we talked about."
- Kennesaw State Head Coach Al Skinner

 Notes
- As mentioned above in the story, this is the first Atlantic Sun weekend sweep for the Owls since the 2010-11 season.
- This is the second game in row where Kennesaw State shot over 50 percent from the floor. Overall, the team has done that six times this season.
- KSU had 21 assists on 32 field goals tonight. The 21 assists is a season high for Kennesaw State.
- Yonel Brown and Kendrick Ray combined to score 51 points tonight. It is the fifth time this season that the lethal duo has combined to score 50-plus points.
- Along with Ray and Brown, Bernard Morena and Aubrey Williams also finished with double-digit points as Morena had 12 and Williams had 10.
