Christopher Guglielmo shot a 1-over par 73 to lead the Kennesaw State men's golf team during Monday's second round of the Rees Jones Invitational that is being held at the par-72, 7,380-yard Haig Point Golf Course.
Guglielmo, who is one of four Owls in the top 20 after 36 holes, helped Kennesaw State to an 11-over par 299 to maintain its fifth-place standing in the 10-team field with a 21-over par 597 total. Liberty, which shot the day's low round of 2-under par 286 and is at 5-over par 581, holds a two-shot lead over Charlotte (583, +7) heading into Tuesday's final round.
Freshman
Jake Fendt, who recorded an even-par 72 in his first collegiate round on Sunday (Sept. 20), carded a second-round 4-over par 76 and is tied for 11th with a 4-over par 148, six shots behind Thomas La Morte (Campbell), Gabriel Lench (Liberty) and Nicolas Manifacier (Charlotte), who shared the individual lead at 2-under par 142.
Guglielmo, who opened the tournament with a 5-over par 77, is tied for 18th with KSU teammates
Wyatt Larkin and
Fredrik Nilehn at 6-over par 150. Freshman
Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres is tied for 43rd following rounds of 81-75 for a 12-over par 156.
The Rees Jones Invitational concludes on Tuesday (Sept. 22). The Owls will tee off at 8:30 a.m. (ET) and be grouped with Furman and Florida Gulf Coast. Final-round action can be followed live at
