KENNESAW, Ga. – Sophomore Abby Roth netted her first-career goal in an Owl uniform to lift the Kennesaw State soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Chattanooga on Friday night (Aug. 28) at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

The Owls dominated the opening half, including outshooting the Mocs, 11 -0, in the first 45 minutes of action, but were held off the scoreboard. Roth changed that in the 47th minute of the match as sophomore Ida Hepsoe placed a perfect corner kick service into the box, where the Columbus, Ga., native headed the ball past UTC goalkeeper Katie Emig.

Down a goal, the Mocs upped their pressure for an equalizer, but the KSU backline and junior goalkeeper Olivia Sturdivant kept a clean sheet for the 1-0 win.

KSU continues its home stand on Sunday (Aug. 30), hosting Clayton State in Fifth Third Bank Stadium at 7 p.m. ET. Sunday night is Graduate Student Night, with free KSU head bands given away at the gate.
