FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Sophomore Teremoana Beaucousin and senior Jimmy Beck each fired even-par scores of 71 to lead No. 21 Kennesaw State during the third round of the 14-team Mason Rudolph Championship that concluded Sunday (April 5) at the par-71, 7,100-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.

Their effort helped the Owls to a final-round 6-over par 290 and a fourth-place finish in a field that included eight teams ranked in Golfstat's Top 50. Kennesaw State recorded rounds of 283-295-290 for a 54-hole total of 16-over par 868.

Host and No. 6 Vanderbilt captured the team title with a 6-under par 846, finishing 11 shots ahead of No. 15 Georgia Tech and No. 27 Alabama. The Yellow Jackets and Crimson Tide tied for second at 5-over par 857. Kennesaw State and No. 44 East Tennessee State (869, +17) rounded out the top five.

"Today was a lot of ups and downs for our team so to come out of it with one of today's better rounds was encouraging," Kennesaw State head coach Jay Moseley said. "We got off to a pretty solid start and then made some silly mistakes in the middle of the back nine.

"Our last four guys all birdied No. 18 so that left us in good spirits as we finished the event," Moseley added. "We are in a good spot as a team right now and know what we need to improve before conference and postseason."

The fourth place finish marked the Owls' 18th top five showing in their last 21 events dating back to last season.

With an even-par final round, Beaucousin (71-74-71) tied for 12th with 3-over par 216 and led KSU for the fourth consecutive tournament.

Senior Kelby Burton, who held the first-round lead, tied for 14th after shooting rounds of 67-72-78 for a 4-over par 217. Senior Austin Vick (221, +8) tied for 21st, while Beck (222, +9) and freshman Fredrik Nilehn (225, +12), tied for 27th and 44th, respectively.

Vanderbilt teammates Matthias Schwab and Hunter Stewart tied for individual medalist honors with 6-under par 207, finishing two shots ahead of East Tennessee State's Adrian Meronk.

Kennesaw State will close out its regular-season tournament schedule next week when it opens play in the Irish Creek Collegiate hosted by Charlotte. The event begins on Saturday (April 11) at Irish Creek Country Club and is the final tune-up before the Owls compete at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, April 19-21.
