KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team took a 5-2 setback to FGCU in its conference opener on Wednesday (Mar. 18) at Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Marietta, Ga.
 
The Owls opened the match by clinching the doubles point at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions respectively.
 
David Durham/DrewWendel defeated Jordi Vives/Andres Alfonzo 8-4 at No. 1, while Simon Pritchard/Jorge Wilton defeated Tianyu Bao/Austin Bates 8-3 at the No. 3 position.
 
Freshman Alejandro Valencia recorded the only singles win for the Owls, posting a 6-7, 6-3, 10-3 win over Andres Alfonzo in a tiebreaker match at the No. 2 position.
 
KSU moves to 5-7 on the season and will return to the court on Saturday (Mar. 21) to take on Stetson in a 10 a.m. ET meeting at Fair Oaks Tennis Center.
