KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team returned home on Sunday (Mar. 1) to post a 5-2 victory of over Tennessee Tech at Kennworth Park in Acworth, Ga.
 
The Owls put up a great effort from start to finish in the match over the Golden Eagles.
 
The doubles point was clinched by the Owls, with Manuel Castellanos/Alejandro Valencia defeating Eduardo Mena/Alvaro Cintas 8-4 at No. 2 and Jorge Wilton/Simon Pritchard defeating Artem Tarasov/Jorge Alfonzo 8-0 at No. 3.
 
KSU continued its winning streak as the Owls recorded four singles victories in the match.
 
Sophomores Simon Pritchard and David Bouchillon opened singles play, earning wins at No.1 and No.4 respectively.
 
Freshman Alejandro Valencia closed the match with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Alberto Esteban at No. 2. The win allowed Valencia to clinch his first dual match in his career as an Owl.
 
Sophomore David Durham came from behind to complete the match with an impressive 3-6, 7-6, 7-6 win over Carlos Tejas at No. 5.
 
"Today was definitely a team effort," said head coach Eduardo Rincon. "We played good in doubles to start the match and that got us going. David showed a lot of maturity and toughness, while Alejandro clinched a dual match for the first time. I am extremely proud of the way we competed in today's match."
 
Kennesaw State will move to 2-5 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday (Mar.4) at 1 p.m. ET to take on Jacksonville State at Kennworth Park.
