KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to Mercer Friday afternoon at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center in Macon, Ga.
 
Kennesaw State (1-2) struggled to score in doubles play, and their difficulties continued through singles action.

"We missed crucial opportunities and failed to execute the fundamentals," said head coach Eduardo Rincon. "Mercer gained the momentum in doubles and they did a good job of carrying it into singles."
 
Sophomore Simon Pritchard posted the only win for the Owls in a tiebreaker match over Mercer's Anderson Scarpa.
 
Scarpa opened the match with a 2-6 win in the first set, but Pritchard quickly gained momentum in the second and third set and completed the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 in singles play.

The Owls will be back in action on Sunday Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. ET to host South Carolina State at Kennworth Park in Acworth, Ga.
