After opening play with a 10-over par 298, the Owls came back in impressive fashion as junior

Nilehn entered the tournament as the defending champion and finished second after recording rounds of 72-69-71 for a 4-under par total of 212, one shot behind medalist winner Lars van Meijel of Memphis, who recorded a 54-hole total of 211.
Nilehn was one of four Owls to place in the top 11. Beaucousin tied for fifth with an even-par 216 total that included a career-low tying 7-under par 65 in the second round. Freshmen
Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres (219, +3) and
Jake Fendt (220, +4) tied for ninth and 11th, respectively.
Junior
Christopher Guglielmo (225, +9) tied for 23rd, tying freshman teammate
Zach Zediker, who was one of four Kennesaw State players competing as an individual.
Sophomore
Buster Bruton (230, +14) tied for 38th, while senior
Carlos Segura Oliva (234, +18) and sophomore
Paul Doig (244, +28) tied for 46th and 63rd, respectively.
"Obviously, we wanted to defend our title, but overall I am proud of our effort coming from behind to and competing to the end," head coach
Bryant Odom said. "We just couldn't overcome some of the mistakes that impeded our momentum. We'll give an honest self-assessment and work on what we need to do to get better. Again, I'm proud of the effort and the way we represented Kennesaw State and Pinetree, and look forward to our next event."
Kennesaw State will close out fall schedule when it travels to Dallas, Texas, to compete in the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate hosted by Baylor Oct. 26-27.
