Kennesaw, Ga. – Junior Kim Fincher's two goals in the second half and sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Zambetti's two saves helped lift the Kennesaw State Owls soccer team over the visiting Ospreys of North Florida in an Atlantic Sun Conference showdown.

Before 211 fans at Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the Owls (5-8-2, 2-2-1) outshot UNF (4-10, 2-3) 12-7 in the match and 7-4 in the final 45 minutes of play.

The Owls applied good offensive pressure controlling the ball for the majority of the first half in the opening frame, totaling one corner opportunity and a free kick, but could not find the back of the netting.

Zambetti, a sophomore from Duluth, Georgia, kept the Ospreys off the board by recording the only save in the half, coming off the foot of UNF's Sonia O'Neill in the 41st minute of play.

Deadlocked at 0-0, Fincher and the Owls struck first in the 65th minute of action with a header coming from a cross off the foot of teammate Carly Pressgrove. The freshman defender from Peachtree City, Georgia played a cross from the right flank to Fincher, who sent the ball to the back of the twine.

North Florida quickly responded with its own goal in the 79' minute of action, as Krista Colubiale to tie the match at 1-1.

However, the day belonged to Fincher and Kennesaw State as the junior's second goal in the 84th minute solidified the win. Fincher received a pass on the right side of the box and quickly turned and chipped the keeper with her left foot for the game-winning goal.

Down to its final seconds trailing 2-1, North Florida's corner kick was blocked by a slew of Kennesaw State Owls as the clock expired to preserve the 2-1 victory.
The Owls will turn right around and take on A-Sun foe Jacksonville at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Sunday (Oct. 18) at 3 p.m.
