KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team suffer a tough 4-3 loss to Presbyterian in its home opener on Saturday at Kennworth Park.

The Owls (1-1) opened the match with wins from
David Durham and
Drew Wendel at No.1 and
Simon Pritchard and
Alejandro Valencia at No. 3, to clinch the doubles point.

Sophomore Simon Pritchard landed a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ryan Miller at No. 1 in singles action, while
Manuel Castellanos put up a great effort at No. 3 to defeat Alexander Lykou 6-2, 6-1 and keep the Owls ahead.

Presbyterian would eventually answer with three straight wins in singles to complete the match.

"Today's match was a great college match and it could have gone either way," said head coach
Eduardo Rincon. "I look forward to going back to the drawing board and practicing on ways to improve. We have a tough schedule ahead of us and today's loss will help us realize what we need to work on."

The Owls will be back in action Friday Feb. 6 when they travel to Macon, Ga. to take on in-state rival Mercer at 2:30 p.m. ET. The match will take place at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.
